In the box this week (from upper left corner, clockwise): Swiss chard, mixed mushrooms, cilantro, spigariello, lettuce, ‘White Satin’ carrots, sweet peppers, hakurei turnips, kohl rabi, napa cabbage, cippolini onions (large share pictured).

Use first (will keep about a week): mushrooms, lettuce
Store a little longer (about 2 weeks): chard, cilantro, spigariello, peppers, carrot tops
Store very well (a month or more): onions, kohl rabi, carrots, turnips
While your produce is super fresh, it has not been washed! Please take care to always wash your vegetables well before enjoying.

Week 8 of the Fall CSA is here, and we think this is a pretty stellar share.
If spigariello is an unfamilar face, we hope you enjoy your acquaintance. Considered a forerunner to broccoli rabe, spigariello is an italian leaf broccoli. It plays well with pine nuts, garlic, sharp cheeses, bacon, anchovies, & peppers; to name a few.

We would like to remind you about the CSA early bird discount presently available, which applies to the upcoming winter season (beginning 12/5). Purchase any share for the 2019 CSA before 12/31/18 and receive a 10% discount!

In light of the holiday next week, we will be harvesting and packing your boxes Monday morning. They will be available for pickup at the farm anytime after 12pm on Monday. Our Wednesday delivery schedule to Chestertown, Elkton, & Newark will remain the same. If you pick your share up on Kent Island, we will be there Tuesday from 3:30-6:30 for the Thanksgiving market. The garden center will be closed Thursday-Sunday for the holiday (11/22-11/25), so if you pick up your share in Cecilton, be sure to come prior. Feel free to call us if you have any questions.

Have a great week and enjoy the veggies!
