From top left, clockwise: Red Russian kale, kohl rabi, romaine (green and red), sweet potatoes, spinach, Napa cabbage, French breakfast radishes, rainbow Swiss chard (Large share pictured).
Some tips on an order of operations for this week’s share…
Use first (will keep about a week in the fridge): spinach – generally stores longer, but is a bit wet this week which shortens shelf life.
Store a little longer (about 2 weeks): romaine lettuce, swiss chard, kale.
Store very well (a month or more): Sweet potatoes, radishes, kohl rabi, Napa cabbage.
We have really great news! Our frost blankets did the trick through Friday and Saturday night’s freezing temperatures, and we were able to save many beautiful vegetables in the garden. Here they are all tucked in:
The kale, lettuce, cabbage, and Swiss chard in your share were all spared using this method. Hooray!
