In your share this week:
Red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, buttercrunch lettuce, joi choi, black radishes, butternut squash, rainbow carrots, purple top turnips, organic slicing cucumber, poblano peppers (large share pictured).
Use first (will keep about a week): red leaf & butter lettuces, cucumber
Store a little longer (about 2 weeks): joi choi, romaine
Store very well (a month or more): squash, radishes, carrots, turnips, peppers
While your produce is super fresh, it has not been washed!

Just one more week of the Fall CSA. Have you signed up for the Winter season yet?
This time of year is a busy one as we scramble to harvest and store root crops from the garden before the deep chill of winter sets in. We are pulling turnips, radishes of every kind, carrots, and more to distribute through the winter months when you can only grow so many things inside and out! Planting in the garden has certainly slowed down, although today we are busy planting an important crop for next year — garlic!
We will also be sowing more leafy greens in the greenhouses this week as our fall gardens crops of arugula, lettuce, salad greens, swiss chard, mustard, and more, slow down.
A beautiful rainbow of veggies in your box this week! Don’t forget, poblano peppers are on the hot pepper spectrum with a beautiful smoky punch. They pair well with beans, rice, cheese, squash, ground meat, and most other savory things! Here are some recipes inspired by the contents of your share:
