A CSA is a way for a local farmer to partner with consumers, and provide them with fresh local food. Watch a quick video explaining the basics of a CSA by clicking here. CSA members pay for their share in the beginning of the season, thereby giving the farmer a means to purchase seed and plant the crops. This partnership between CSA members and farmers is becoming one of the best means to have a secure and safe food source. Each share has 8-10 items in it each week. We offer two share sizes; large and small. A large share is good for 2-4 people and a small share 1-2. We offer CSA shares 52 weeks out of the year, divided by season.
Spring (10 weeks)
Summer (22 weeks)
Fall (10 weeks)
Winter (12 weeks)
Sign up for a particular CSA season at least one season in advance as shares are limited and at any time we may “close” a particular season.
CSA shares may be picked up in Cecilton at our farm market anytime after 12 noon on Wednesdays through Saturday. Shares not picked up by Monday morning will be donated to Deep Roots at Clairvaux Farm (a local shelter). Shares may also be picked up Wednesday evenings in either Elkton or Newark, each at a private residence. For those that find the Farmers’ Markets we attend more convenient, you may view the list of markets and market seasons/days/times by clicking here.
While we would love to accommodate every organic produce-loving customer, we can only fulfill a limited number of CSA shares per season. So sign up for yours today! See seasonal/size shares for purchase above.
